Whales Guaranteed! Watch majestic Humpback Whales at Eden EDEN Whale Watching at its best Spring is the best time to visit Eden to watch majestic Humpback Whales on their southern migration. Australian Geographic has named Eden as one of the top whale watching destinations in Australia and there is no better way to watch these giants of the deep than with Cat Balou Cruises. Cruises operate daily during September, October and early November and offer a guarantee of seeing whales on these cruises. With years of experience, the Cat Balou crew are the most likely team to find these amazing giants of the deep, however in the rare event of not seeing whales at close range, a return free cruise or a refund of half the fare is offered. Cat Balou is a stable 16-metre catamaran licensed to carry 72 passengers. As numbers may have limitations this year, make an early booking and everyone will have plenty of room to move about safely. Passengers have a choice of sitting inside, on the upper deck, or in the large bow area, providing excellent viewing and photo opportunities. A live commentary is provided throughout the cruise and complimentary refreshments including hot soup are provided. Unlike most of the other ports in the area, there is direct ocean access from the port of Eden, with no sand bars to cross, so passengers are not required to wear life jackets. It is mainly the adult and sub-adult whales that are seen at the start of their southerly migration during spring as they frequently feed along the coast. Later in the season the mother and calf pods travel closer to shore often stopping in Twofold Bay. Cat Balou Cruises offer a two-hour Twofold Bay Discovery Cruises on selected afternoons to explore the southern section of Twofold Bay - if whales are within the bay it’s an added bonus! Cat Balou Cruises operates whale watching cruises throughout September, October and early November.
