Nestled in a sheltered coastal valley with easy beach access it is a town that truly embraces nature. It is also home to the iconic Tathra Beach, the wonderful steamer wharf and some of the most delicious cafés and eater- ies in the region. Tathra punches above its weight in just about everything. Make your way to this beachside town and discover family time whether it be learning to surf, fishing from the wharf, settling in for the day on Tathra Beach, an easy cycle to Mogareeka, or tackling the Bundadung Trails all of which were untouched by the 2018 fires. Drop a line in at Kianinny Bay or hire a stand-up paddleboard while you’re getting your morning coffee in town. Take in the stunning views from the brand new Headland Walk which links the Tathra headland and Tathra Wharf. The walk takes in sweeping ocean vistas where you can spot dolphins, sea birds and of course whales during the whale watching season. Tathra is ‘recovered and ready’ The all-abilities walkway features a series of boardwalks and walking paths in addition to an elevated viewing platform which is beautifully crafted from reclaimed wharf timbers. BEACHSIDE AT ITS BEST Recognised on countless occasions for their warm customer service and amazing family and pet friendly facilities, the team at Tathra Beachside loves welcoming guests to the holiday park, especially those who return year after year. Accommodation options include en suite camping and caravan sites, or powered and unpowered sites. There are retro vans, surf villas, safari tents, pet friendly cottages and a trio of funky studio surf shacks that can be interconnected for a large family or group. For the ultimate in water fun, the Big Splash water park is open all year and is a great way to relax with the children. There’s also a sparkling pool, a giant jumping pillow and awesome playground. The park’s Beach Barn is the place to enjoy your own meal, and there are a raft of fun family events from gigs to trivia and karaoke. In addition to the pet friendly cottages pets are also welcome on all powered and en suite sites. Pet supplies are available in reception and there’s a dog wash station. Your furry pal will even receive a welcome treat on arrival. Tathra’s historic wharf is perfect for whale watching or simply sitting back and relaxing with a rod and reel. Photo: Destination NSW
