Centred around the townships of Oxley, Milawa and Whorouly, the Milawa Gourmet Region has grown into a food and wine lover’s paradise, renowned as the epicentre of the gourmet experience and home to iconic gourmet outlets and accommo- dation facilities that make a tour of the region memorable. It is home to the makers of fine food, wine and craft offerings, ranging from mustards and condiments, free range chicken, fresh berries in season, jams and preserves, olive oil and preserved olives, ceramic art, fine woven fabric, photographic art, honey, lavender prod- ucts, plant nurseries, fine furniture made from Australian timbers and more. Ride your bike up to the farm gates and fill your basket with fresh local pro- duce bought direct from the farmer who grew it with Pedal to Produce cycling routes. Take to the trails and combine the best of sightseeing, relaxed, off-the- beaten-track travel and Victoria’s excep- tional wine and produce. The Milawa-Oxley leg of the Pedal to Produce ride is just less than 10 kilometres along a flat and highly accessible section of the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail. Milawa Gourmet members hold a ‘Producers Market’ at Milawa’s main crossroads featuring local gourmet produce where you can listen to live music and talk to the producers. The market is held four times a year, at the beginning of each new season. Pedal to produce in Milawa-Oxley for fresh delights. PHOTO: Visit Victoria.
